Section of Mabel Street closed for duration of BSRL project.

A section of Mabel Street will be closed to provide a safer detour for pedestrians around the construction site.

Mabel St. east of Cherry Ave. will be closed for the duration of project. The revised pedestrian route will be in place Tuesday January 12th.

Beginning January 11th and continuing through the course of the BSRL construction, Mabel Street east of Cherry Ave. will remain closed to vehicles and pedestrians. Please observe the safety signage and follow the designated routes.

Aug. 19 (2019) - Health Sciences Garage Opens

Two sessions to provide information for those University departments and centers that will have guests parking in this garage: Aug. 13, Aug. 15.

The Health Sciences Garage (previously Banner Garage A) will open Monday, Aug. 19, for those who have purchased permits (specific to that garage).

Visitor parking will be available on the top level only and will require payment.

Closure of Helen between Cherry & Warren

The installation of this large piece of equipment into the new BSRL building will require a crane parked on Helen between Cherry & Warren.  As a result, Helen will be closed (tomorrow), Thursday, Feb. 8th from 8am – 5am.  Traffic will be detoured to Speedway. Pedestrians will be rerouted to the sidewalk on the south side of Helen.

BSRL PROJECT Construction Update

Bioscience Research Lab (BSRL) Project - Helen St. Closure: Cherry to Warren on Wednesday, January 24, 2018


Helen St. will be closed between Cherry and Warren on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm so that a crane can be placed on the south side of the Keating Building to lift equipment onto the roof. Traffic will be detoured around to Speedway.

Bioscience Research Lab (BSRL) Project - Substantially Complete


The BSRL project has achieved Substantial Completion! This is a significant construction milestone in which DPR Construction has sufficiently completed the building per their contract and turned it over to the University of Arizona to furnish and occupy. To commemorate this event, DPR has provided their FINAL NEWSLETTER.
