Cherry Ave Sidewalk Detour Feb. 4 through end of year

Cherry Ave sidewalk detour 2/4/2017-12/31/2017

Banner University Medical Center Tucson has begun construction on a new Central Utility Plant at the northeast corner of Cherry & Drachman. The project’s construction fence will restrict the sidewalk on the east side of Cherry Avenue between Drachman and Adams Streets so pedestrians will be detoured to the sidewalk on the west side of Cherry. This sidewalk is projected to be closed until the end of 2017.  Please see the attached map of the area.

Southwest Gas Construction Update
Wednesday, January 4, 2017 and Thursday, January 5, 2017

Southwest Gas will be paving the intersections of Cherry/Helen and Cherry/Mabel on Wednesday, January 4 and Thursday, January 5.  The streets will remain open, yet restricted to one lane with flaggers. Paving materials weren’t available over the break so they are completing the work as soon as possible and prior to the beginning of the semester.  This is expected to conclude the Southwest Gas work in the UAHS area until this summer.

As stated in the previous impact, Warren Ave. will be closed and access to the loading dock and trash compactors is limited (see attached pdf).

University of Arizona Construction Update

8/1/16

As if things aren’t busy enough with all of the construction around the UAHS campus, the monsoons are adding to the mix.

The BSRL project team has been trying since last week to pour concrete for a large deck on the south side of the project.

We hope to have a concrete pour beginning at 11:00 pm tonight and continuing through 7am Tuesday. This will require the usual temporary closure of Helen between Cherry & Warren. If rain delays the work, it will be rescheduled each night until it can be completed.
