As Kitchell Construction prepares to drill caissons for the foundation of the Health Sciences Innovation Building (HSIB), the project fence will be moved out into the Warren Avenue pedestrian/bike path near the AHS Library, Sarver Heart Center and Pharmacy buildings. The center of the Drachman turnaround and the grass circle in front of the Library will be temporarily paved to accommodate the bike/ped path, parking for delivery vehicles and an emergency fire lane. A concrete floor for the 3rd level of this 4-story building will be placed tonight. And there’s already plenty of progress on framing and utility pipe installation in the basement. See the photos in this week’s BSRL Newsletter 8/29/16

A concrete placement on the north side 2nd level will start at 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22 and be completed by 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 23. No road closures are required.

Just a reminder that Cherry Avenue will be closed between Mabel and Helen Streets this Thursday and Friday for the installation of large pieces of steel. The water line tie-in that required Cherry to be closed last week was completed successfully. Thanks to everyone on the UAHS campus for your patience as we accomplish this work before the start of the Fall semester. The concrete placement for the 2nd level deck will take place Tuesday, August 16th.

The 3rd concrete placement for the 2nd level deck is currently scheduled to take place Monday, August 15th, which will require Helen to be closed from 12am to 6am. Site work for installation of the sewer and fire lines has required the closure of Cherry from August 8th to the 15th.

Critical activities at the BSRL construction site will require the temporary closure of Cherry Avenue. We understand this will be difficult for the campus community, so DPR Construction is accelerating and coordinating the work to accomplish it before the start of the fall semester.

The fences are up around the site for the new Health Sciences Innovation Building (HSIB). Crews will be removing light poles and clearing the site to gear up for excavation to begin in July. Alternative parking for lot #2012 permit holders is available in the Highland Garage.

The next concrete pour on the north side of the site, near Mabel is scheduled for: Thursday, June 23rd from 12:01 am – 6:00 am. There are concrete pours scheduled for 2 consecutive nights on the south side of the project which will require the closure of Helen between Cherry and Warren: Friday, June 24th: 1:30 am – 6:00 am Friday, June 24th 10:30 pm – 8:00 am Saturday June 25th. The second tower crane is scheduled to be placed on the north side of the site in July.

Helen St. closed Cherry/Warren Thu. June 16 evening to Friday June 17th morning for concrete pour. The north tower crane erection will be rescheduled. Installation continues on Mechanical Electrical Plumbing deck inserts. The area just north of the basement is beginning to take shape. The building actually extends to the north end of the Medical Research Building.

ROAD CLOSURE Helen St. will be closed between Cherry & Warren on Saturday, June 4th from 12:01 am to 7am for concrete placement of the 1st floor deck. Overnight work (6pm – 6am) on the 3rd & 4th floors in the Keating Building and on all levels of MRB will continue through June 6th. Installation of the temporary cover at the Keating loading dock will continue through June 6th. The area just north of the basement will begin to take shape. The building actually extends to the north end of the Medical Research Building.
