The 3rd concrete placement for Level 4 will take place on Tuesday, October 11th. Interior framing to begin at Level 1 and exterior framing continues at the same level. DPR Construction work on the west side of the Keating Building and the southeast corner of the construction site means that the loading dock will be inaccessible from 6pm to 4am on these dates: Oct.4-7, Oct.10-14, and Oct.17-21.

October 5, 2016

Two University structures at 1218 and 1224 N. Vine will be demolished beginning on Friday, October 7th and continuing through the weekend. Following the demolition, the area will be bladed and established as a construction storage area through the Fall of 2018.

Two structures east of the Highland Garage will be demolished over the next week. As a result, the pedestrian shortcut between the Highland Garage and Cherry Ave. will be closed from Thursday, Oct 6th through Monday, Oct 17th . Pedestrians will need to use Mabel or Helen. The area will remain fenced and used for construction storage for the duration of the HSIB project. A new pedestrian shortcut will be provided after Oct 17th. Map shown in linked story.

Change in Pedestrian route: The temporary pedestrian path that has passed through the HSIB construction site between Cherry & Drachman will be closed on Wednesday, September 21st. See map attached to this News Item.

September 20, 2016

Warren Ave. will be closed and access to the loading dock and trash compactors is limited Tuesday 9/20 from 1pm to 5pm. See maps attached to this news item for details.

September 19, 2016

The 4th and last Concrete Placement for the 3rd level deck will take place Tuesday, September 20th. The MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing) rough in will continue in basement. 4th Floor decking activities have begun and will continue throughout the next couple of weeks. As Kitchell Construction prepares to drill caissons for the foundation of the Health Sciences Innovation Building (HSIB), the project fence will be moved out into the Warren Avenue pedestrian/bike path near the AHS Library, Sarver Heart Center and Pharmacy buildings. The center of the Drachman turnaround and the grass circle in front of the Library will be temporarily paved to accommodate the bike/ped path, parking for delivery vehicles and an emergency fire lane. A concrete floor for the 3rd level of this 4-story building will be placed tonight. And there’s already plenty of progress on framing and utility pipe installation in the basement. See the photos in this week’s BSRL Newsletter 8/29/16

A concrete placement on the north side 2nd level will start at 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22 and be completed by 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 23. No road closures are required.

August 15, 2016

Just a reminder that Cherry Avenue will be closed between Mabel and Helen Streets this Thursday and Friday for the installation of large pieces of steel. The water line tie-in that required Cherry to be closed last week was completed successfully. Thanks to everyone on the UAHS campus for your patience as we accomplish this work before the start of the Fall semester. The concrete placement for the 2nd level deck will take place Tuesday, August 16th.

August 8, 2016

The 3rd concrete placement for the 2nd level deck is currently scheduled to take place Monday, August 15th, which will require Helen to be closed from 12am to 6am. Site work for installation of the sewer and fire lines has required the closure of Cherry from August 8th to the 15th.
