University of Arizona Construction Update - Road Restriction
Health Sciences Campus - Drachman Street east of Cherry Avenue Summer 2017
Drachman Street east of Cherry Avenue will be restricted beginning on Monday, May 15th. This will close the current Cat Tran Shuttle stop, “Drachman Turnaround” and eventually the parking spaces along Drachman on June 5th. Two maps are shown below, one for May 15th, one for after June 5th. The two maps provide more details on the restrictions on Drachman.
Here are the key points:
- The shuttle stop will be moved for the summer to the east side of the UAHS campus (at the Cancer Center and on Martin Ave. adjacent to Drachman Hall).
- Pedestrians and bicyclists who walk their bikes will have an accessible route along Drachman.
- Special deliveries to the Pharmacy building and UA maintenance vehicles will be allowed through the construction area. There will always be access for emergency vehicles, should the need arise.
- This is scheduled to be completed by August 18th. Drachman, the Cat Tran shuttle stop and a new and improved turnaround will reopen.
Parking and Transportation Services has updated their Summer Cat Tran Shuttle Guide to include the alternate shuttle stop locations. The Cat Tran Summer Guide is attached and also on the Parking and Transportation Services website:
The routes will be effective May 15th.
The HSIB, Banner Central Plant and Southwest Gas projects have critical work in the area and it was determined that the best and safest option was to work on them at the same time over the summer. We apologize for the inconvenience.
