Critical activities at the BSRL construction site will require the temporary closure of Cherry Avenue.
Cherry Ave. will be temporarily closed between Mabel and Helen from 3:00 a.m. Friday, 1/13 through the end of the day Monday, 1/16.
The current weather forecast predicts storms over the weekend and depending on their severity, they could cause delays that would keep Cherry closed after Monday to complete the work. Rain could slow down the process, but lightning would be the biggest problem since work would have to stop. We will provide an update if these is a delay.
This operation involves the placement of a large crane on Cherry to install air handler units on the roof of the BSRL building. Dozens of large delivery trucks will be moving in and out of the site each day. This is a complex procedure, so we appreciate your patience with the detours and traffic.
- Both travel lanes of Cherry Ave. will be closed and traffic will be diverted to Mountain Ave. Vehicle Detour Map
- Parking lots 2146 & 2147 entrances will be closed at Cherry Ave. and replaced by a temporary entrance on Mabel St.
- The sidewalk on Cherry Avenue will remain open; however pedestrians are encouraged to take Helen St. to the Warren Pedestrian Mall.
See the pdf below for the detour route.
